Brazilian Butt Lift FAQs

Posted on May 13, 2016 by - Butt Enlargement, Buttock Augmentation

Your Brazilian Butt Lift questions, answeredIt’s no secret that the “apple bottom” shape is in. Women like Kim Kardashian, who “broke the Internet” by showing off her full-figured backside, have brought the hourglass shape (with a little extra on the bottom) into the limelight in recent years. Many women want this look, but find it difficult to “build a booty” with exercise alone. Enter the Brazilian butt lift, a procedure that uses a patient’s own fat transferred from another part of their body to their buttocks for a curvier backside. Plastic surgeon Dr. Carlos Chacon offers Brazilian butt lift surgery at Divino Plastic Surgery, and he is here to answer the most common questions he is asked about this procedure.

Which Issues Does a Brazilian Butt Lift Address?

A Brazilian butt lift is ideal for adding volume to the buttocks, and is ideal for patients who have flat, deflated and/or sagging buttocks due to weight loss or aging, or who simply want to add more projection to their buttocks in order to achieve a curvy, sexy silhouette.

After Surgery, What is the Recovery Period Like?

You will wear a compression garment over your buttocks area for the first week or two after surgery; this is to protect and support the area as it heals from surgery. During the first couple of weeks, you will need to refrain from sitting or otherwise putting pressure on your buttocks as much as possible; sitting on a soft cushion or donut for short intervals is permitted. Rest while lying on your side or belly instead.

When Can I Return to Work and Exercising after Surgery?

Most patients are able to return to work two to three weeks after surgery, and strenuous exercise after about six weeks. Light walking, starting as early as the day after surgery, is recommended, as it will help the swelling go down and assist your body’s healing process.

Does Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery Leave Scars?

As Dr. Chacon is careful to place incisions in the natural creases of the buttocks, any scarring will be minimal and well-concealed.

Will My Results Be Permanent?

The results of a Brazilian butt lift procedure typically last at least 10 years after the surgery, and greatly depend on the patient maintaining their weight and body shape through healthy lifestyle habits, including proper diet and exercise. Weight gain will cause the fat cells injected into the buttocks to expand and, as a result, affect the aesthetic results of the surgery.
