How to Choose a Plastic Surgeon – Vetting the Options

Posted on August 29, 2014 by - Plastic Surgery

There are thousands of plastic surgeons out there vying for the same business, but all are most certainly NOT of the same caliber. Sure they all have nice enough websites, but how can you be sure you’re choosing the best of the bunch for what could be a life changing procedure?

Professionalism – First up, it’s not too much to ask for such a responsible individual to represent itself with due professionalism online. As such, pay attention to the website of the surgeon and you might just get a good idea about their attention to detail and general way of doing business.

Qualifications – Ask yourself if you know for a fact you’re dealing with a qualified professional, or whether there’s just a slight chance it’s an amateur operation masquerading as the real deal. In order to verify this one way or the other, you need to look at qualifications.

Case Studies – Are you expected to just take the surgeon’s word for it, or are they able to offer examples of real life success stories? These should be backed with testimonials from those that have undergone the surgeon’s procedures before, just to give you an idea of how they perform.

Abundant Information – Does the surgeon come across as a veritable font of information on the subject, or are you left with more questions than answers? It’s always a good sign when you see a surgeon’s website is bursting with information confirming their passion and knowledge.

Specialism – And then of course comes the actual specialism of the surgeon. Some are world leading in the field of breast augmentation, but might not be the best to go to for a filler injection. The same also applies in reverse, so be sure to choose a surgeon that’s a fully-fledged specialist in the area you’re interested in.
