How to Sleep Comfortably after Brazilian Butt Lift

Posted on June 14, 2021 by - Brazilian Butt Lift

Brazilian Butt Lift Sleep Position during RecoveryBrazilian butt lift with Dr. Carlos Chacon of Divino Plastic Surgery is designed to give you the round, voluptuous buttocks of your dreams. Because of the fat transfer techniques used in Brazilian butt lift, you will need to take some special precautions during recovery to ensure the success of your procedure.

Most importantly, you must remember that applying pressure to the healing buttocks can interfere with the transplanted fat’s chances of developing a new blood supply. To avoid hindering fat survival, you will be asked to avoid sitting or sleeping directly on your buttocks and back for several weeks after surgery.

Safe Sleep Positions

If you are used to sleeping on your back, your post-operative instructions might pose a slight challenge. Don’t worry: you can still get a good night’s rest without putting your Brazilian butt lift recovery and results at risk.

Dr. Chacon recommends you sleep on your stomach during recovery if you can. This puts most of your body weight on your stomach and thighs, leaving your buttock area free of pressure. Be sure to place a pillow under your head; adding a second pillow under your hips may make you more comfortable. When getting out of bed, try to slide on your sides or stomach instead of flipping over onto your buttocks and sitting up as you normally would.

Another option is to sleep on your sides, as long as you are sure you will not end up turning onto your back. If you choose a side sleep position, it is helpful to place large pillows at your sides so you remain in place as you sleep. Another exception to side sleeping is if you had fat transplanted to your sides during your Brazilian butt lift. If that is the case, talk to Dr. Chacon about additional modifications.

When Can I Sleep on My Back after Brazilian Butt Lift?

Dr. Chacon will advise when you can resume sitting on your buttocks and sleeping on your back after Brazilian butt lift. Most patients are able to sleep and sit in their normal positions approximately two months after surgery.

It may be frustrating to make some accommodations during your Brazilian butt lift recovery — but you will surely be glad you did. Once you have recuperated and your beautiful results have revealed themselves, the temporary sacrifices will seem well worth it.
