The Quest For Michelle Obama Arms: Cosmetic Surgery Edition

Pop culture abounds with artists and their trademark body parts — from Kim Kadarshian’s derriere to Cindy Crawford’s unique mole to Angelina Jolie’s perfect pout. And then there’s Michelle Obama’s well-toned arms. It’s no secret how the first lady achieved her lean, sleek, and strong physique. She reportedly wakes up at 4:30 in the morning to do her workouts, including her killer arm exercises.
What if you’ve done the same thing and the results are still not there?
This should not come as a surprise at all as the arms are one of the most difficult areas in the body to reshape and tone. In fact, excess fat and sagging skin in the arms may be largely influenced by genetics which in turn will not respond to either diet or exercise. This may be extremely frustrating for individuals who have worked hard to get into shape only to find themselves haunted with the dreaded bat wings.
Flabby and Pudgy Arms No More with Cosmetic Surgery!
Here at our San Diego cosmetic surgery practice, patients who have tried all forms of arm exercises yet haven’t seen the results they want would often ask us about their cosmetic options. By and large, we recommend 2 surgical cosmetic procedures: liposuction and an arm lift.
Arm Liposuction – This is ideal for patients whose main concern is excess pockets of fat in the upper arms that do not respond to diet, exercise, or any form of lifestyle changes. Every so often, their arms have this lumpy and dimpled appearance which in turn makes them less confident to go sleeveless.
Just like liposuction in other body parts such as the abdomen and thighs, fat will be suctioned out in the upper or lower arms through a cannula that will be inserted via a tiny incision. Latest advancements in liposuction have also made it possible to remove excess fat and tighten the skin minus the incisions such as in laser-assisted or ultrasound-assisted liposuction procedures.
Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) – For patients who have lost significant amounts of weight, their arms may be left with flabby skin that doesn’t seem to be in proportion with the rest of their body contours. By and large, an arm lift will be recommended for these patients in which the excess skin will be trimmed and consequently re-draped to achieve a tighter and more toned look. This procedure may be done alone or in conjunction with liposuction.
The quest for Michelle Obama arms is no secret anymore! Dr. Chacon brings vast experience and extraordinary surgical skill to achieve the most natural and proportional outcomes in all forms of body contouring procedure such as arm liposuction and the arm lift.
