Recovering From Your San Diego Fat Transfer
Posted on October 17, 2013 by Dr. Carlos Chacon - Fat Injections
The concept used in fat transfer procedures have been used for a long time now, but the introduction of new techniques have helped catapult it to popularity in recent years. Our San Diego fat transfer technique has helped men and women who want to plump up certain body parts.
After youโve made the decision to have some fat harvested from either your abdomen or thighs and have it injected to your cheeks, hands, breasts, or buttocks, we help you quickly recover from the procedure with the following measures:
-
Find someone to drive you home right after the procedure. You will also most likely need someone at home to assist you with your day-to-day activities.
-
Swelling and bruising are common during the first 48 hours of the procedure. However, residual bruising and redness may still be present for several weeks, but will gradually disappear. Dr. Chacon will provide you with post-op instructions on how to deal with both.
-
Take your pain medications as prescribed. However, be sure to check with your doctor before taking certain NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), as they could increase your chances of bleeding.
-
Avoid overexertion following the first week of the procedure. It is best not to engage in moderate to highly demanding activities a month or two following the surgery.
